How long does GPS lock usually take?

In normal conditions, satellite lock is typically achieved within about 30 seconds. During a cold start or after moving the device long distances while powered off, acquisition may take a few minutes.

Once the first GPS lock has been completed, subsequent startups are usually almost instantaneous, allowing the device to be ready for use very quickly during rally operations.

For best performance, the unit should be mounted with a clear view of the sky.
