Download, print, and keep driving: anytime, anywhere
At Closer, we design our products to be reliable, durable, and built for real-world driving conditions. Every tripmeter accessory we sell is already included with the product, but we also know that in real use, parts can get lost, damaged, or worn out over time.
When that happens, waiting for replacements or paying again for small components can be frustrating and unnecessary. That’s why we decided to take a different approach.
We’re making our official 3D files available for free, giving every driver the possibility to download and print the parts they need, exactly when they need them. No delays, no extra costs, just complete control over your setup.
It’s a simple idea, but a meaningful one: give drivers the freedom to maintain their gear independently.
A Growing Library of Accessories
We’re starting with one of the most useful and requested components: the 1” RAM Mount Ball Adapter.
This accessory allows seamless integration between your Closer tripmeter and RAM mounting systems, one of the most widely used solutions in motorsport and automotive setups. It’s a small component, but essential for many configurations. And this is only the beginning.
Our goal is to build a constantly evolving library of printable accessories. Over time, we’ll introduce new components such as protective visors, possibly available in different versions, along with mounting solutions and other small parts designed to improve usability or replace worn elements.
The idea is to give you more flexibility with every update, making your setup easier to maintain and adapt.
3D Printing: What You Need to Get Started
If you’re new to 3D printing, the process is more accessible than ever. Most modern desktop 3D printers are capable of producing functional, durable parts, especially for applications like these.
To get started, you’ll need a standard FDM/FFF 3D printer, a slicing software such as Cura, PrusaSlicer or BambuStudio from Bambulab, and some basic familiarity with print settings. Once you have the file, preparing it for printing is a straightforward process.
Material choice, however, is critical. Since these components are used in real driving conditions, exposed to vibrations, sunlight, and temperature changes, we strongly recommend using technical filaments such as:
- ABS, a solid and widely available option with good overall performance
- ASA, ideal for outdoor use thanks to its UV and weather resistance
- ASA CF (Carbon Fiber), which adds stiffness and structural strength
- ASA GF (Glass Fiber), offering enhanced durability and thermal stability
Printing settings also play an important role. Using a relatively high infill will improve strength, while proper temperature control helps ensure good layer adhesion. For materials like ABS and ASA, an enclosed printer can significantly reduce the risk of warping. Orientation should also be considered carefully, as it directly affects the mechanical resistance of the final part.
Print. Replace. Drive.
This initiative goes beyond convenience, it represents a different way of thinking about product ownership.
With Closer’s free 3D files, you’re no longer dependent on spare part availability or shipping times. If something breaks or gets lost, you can act immediately, print a replacement, and keep driving without interruption.
We’ll continue expanding the library with new accessories and improvements, making this ecosystem more complete over time.
